6th Annual Statewide Talent Show Winners
Courtney Briggs-Smith
Courtney is from right here in Little Rock. She had a grandmother who passed away from lupus along with other health complications. She heard about our talent show through one of our Lupus Warriors, Tanita Patterson. Courtney has recently lost her father and she wants to honor him, her grandmother, and anyone who has lost a loved one due to sickness. She has had the opportunity to sing background vocals for Zacardi Cortez, Crystal Aikins, and many more and served several years as the Minister of Music for different ministries. Courtney is preparing to release a single in the near future.
Chyler Coleman
Chyler is from Little Rock and is our youngest contestant competing at the tender age of 10. She doesn’t know anyone with lupus but entered this talent show because she loves to dance. She heard about us through a vendor community event that we participated in. She won 1st place at Destiny – a Little Rock competition last year.
Angel Evans
Angel was born and raised in Morrilton. She doesn’t have any ties to lupus, but is an Occupational Therapist who has learned lots of treatment strategies while in school to treat these types of patients in order to perform desired activities such as self-care, leisure, social participation, etc. She was a contestant in our talent show last year. She has been singing since she was 3 years old. Although she works in the medical field, singing has always been her passion. Angel released her first single in January of 2020 called, “Your Right and Privilege”. She sang the National Anthem this year for the Arkansas Travelers and has been selected to sing the National Anthem for the Razorbacks this season during their winter sports. Angel traveled to Los Angeles this past July where she worked with music producer and vocal coach James Lugo, who coached on American Idol for many seasons!
